Small fry business meeting

I had several of the grandchildren at the house the other day.  Since we finally did find the farm and we will be spending time there after we close, I thought I’d see what they were thinking.  I decided on three standard questions and I asked both of our younger girls and four of the grandchildren.

I think it’s important to see what kids are thinking.  It is a huge challenge for my city girls to go from rural West Virginia to More Rural West Virginia!  I chose questions that were practical and would allow us to gear at least some chores toward someone’s general area of interest.

Three questions:

The first thing we will do is start a garden at the new farm, what would you like to plant and grow?

Everyone has to help out to make our farm work well, what you like your farm chore to be, how will you help out?

If you can only take one toy, game, method of entertainment (non-electronic) what would you like to take?  (This one is important – space will be a premium but Grandma ALWAYS has a toy room or at least toy area)

Lexie, 16, would like to grow snap peas, feed animals, and take an ipod but if it has to be non-electronic a book or pen and paper would work.

Candice, 15, would like to grow dill, water vegetables and plants, and take the game Sorry!.

Noah, almost 8, would like to grow broccoli and carrots – cuz he likes to eat those, he couldn’t think of a chore he wanted to do, and he’d like to take the trains.

Elijah, 4, would like to grow broccoli, help grow things (but we know he is an excellent stall cleaner), and he would like to take the trains and big blocks.

Eva, 5, would like to grow blueberries and strawberries, onions and bell peppers.   She’d like to help hang laundry on the line, and she wants to take her baby doll and accessories.

Mya had been in daycare all day and she finally came to the house.  I grabbed a minute or two to see what she had to say.  At 3 years old, I expected her answers to be interesting, and I was not disappointed.

Mya would like to grow – fish sticks . . . and chicken nuggets.

She would like her job to be – pink!

And she would like to take her baby to the farm.

Love it!!!!!
