taking back the land, episode 345 . . .

It’s been almost a year and we are still working hard to reclaim pasture from the brush that seems determined to occupy the 29 acres!  Some of us are working harder than others – there is a reason my hands are free to take the photos!  hahaha!

I will try to find a photo that shows just how much progress this is, but for now an explanation will have to do.  Last year, during wood chipper weekend, we worked for HOURS trying to get TO this one big pine tree.  We cut hundreds of little pines, pulled thousands of briars and put them through the wood chipper.  We were finally just able to SEE the edge of this one tree.  Farmer man has been a VERY BUSY man!  It is clear all the way around the “big pine tree” on “Beyond the Pond Hill”.

I am working up to a one year comparison post in a couple of weeks!

So along side our war of the weeds, we have had a few other things going on.  Eva has stayed to help this week.  Here are a few of our adventures:

We are always busy, always doing many things at once!  Farmer man and I even got a chance to run off to Amish Country for a day or so to enjoy again the view that got us into this whole farming thing to begin with:

Ah, it is breath-taking!  There is something about the sound of hooves and buggy wheels on pavement that lowers the bloodpressure and slows the breathing!  We are working hard to get to a place where the simple life is more of our life.  Time and work still required!
