Never say never!

So, one of those things I said when farmer man wanted cows was – fine, behind the farm gate.  You know, where the animals belong.  But, four cows eat alot of grass faster than we can fence off new areas.  So, no matter how hard I complained – there are now four cows in the front yard of my farmhouse.

You know there are some benefits to having 4 cows around the house.  BUT that does not in ANY way compensate for THIS!

But, life goes on . . . rain or shine . . . work to be done . . .

At least in the pouring rain, I’m not running fence!  Barn work is more fun!

We worked to make the barn a little more user-friendly.  Now we can feed grain and hay in all the stalls without entering the stalls.  It’s not exciting, unless you have to wrestle a growing, stubborn, buck at the stall gate!  As cute as he is, he is strong for a little fella!

new improved feeding system – we DID NOT steal the sign, it came with the farm!

While we were working on streamlining the barn, we also replaced two more of the support posts – so now we can raise goats in relative safety.

Rain may be frustrating for many people, but for me right now – it is welcome and enjoyed.  I enjoyed sitting on the porch this morning listening to the quiet rain on the trees, I didn’t have to run fence today, and with any luck – this rain will grow some grass in the fields BEHIND the gates!  I can tell you right now, I like rain FAR better than cows in my front yard!
