We have been BUSY!!!!
We had the absolute privilege of sharing the baby goats with a group of kiddos at a Wednesday night church class! Oh what fun that was!!!

Then, we had a bit of good weather and planted some cabbage and broccoli. What a great planting crew! But, alas, every single plant that we set was completely gone by this weekend. Either something ate them, or they died and are tucked under our mulch. That black thumb of mine strikes again! We direct planted winter peas, maybe they will live. Good garden crew though!
The ducks came over from next door for a visit and farmer man fixed them a mini-pond. Oh we all had fun with that! When the grandkids are the namers of the animals you get names like: John (probably a girl), Jr., Olivia, and Cheese. I can’t remember the other two names . . . sorry kiddos, we need to write these things down!
We helped out with the neighbor’s (Jennifer and Jeremy) chickens – which are growing up to look like real chickens. Still free-loading so far, no eggs expected for a while but they are free-ranging during the day. So, they are starting to eat bugs – another good reason to have chickens, they say.

We finished up the fencing of the back valley complete with gates. (If this sentence could somehow reflected the amount of work that actually entailed . . . )

We are trying to make eating healthier an easier process. Hopefully we will get some lettuce and spinach planted in the porch rail boxes so it is easy to grab for dinner. Maybe it will survive better than the cabbage! The girls were great helpers, and the boxes are ready, clothes drying on the line . . . spring, it looks like spring!
We enjoyed the company of a couple of long-time friends, and again the grandkids and the kids over this weekend. Another few days where my heart takes note – They are all together, they are all here. Not that anyone’s ears could miss that fact that we were all together! The neighbors, even though they are not too close, might not appreciate our howling laughter, yelling from farm to mini-farm, singing all manner of music into the late evening . . . but, so far they haven’t complained! Sorry, no photos, I was too busy enjoying everybody to stop and take the photos!

There is so much life packed into my life! Life, more abundantly! Ears would quickly dull if I were to write the intricacies of the last two weeks of life, this is just a piece. You know, like everybody, we have had great challenges and still do. Our house is kind of a mess, our farm is a constant list of things that need done, our kids make mistakes, we make mistakes. We are real, live, flawed people – that Jesus loves! I always want to be careful to thank God for the blessings that encircle me and trust Him when life is a bit difficult.
