One of my favorite things to do on the farm is SIT in the cool breeze on the front porch. It is a much nicer experience with company.
Family farm week was a much more relaxed experience this year. Less hoopla, fewer days with everyone all at one time, and better preparation made it more relaxing for everybody – I think. Warning – this is a photo heavy post!
Preparatory trip to Sams for supplies and one freezer well stocked with freezer pig and a side of beef. We might have forgotten that we were not driving the van! We are tetris champions!

I’m sure no one went hungry and I think we even managed enough free-range food and towels for everyone. We only had to re-prime the well twice – so we are improving!

Everybody took some time to meet the new goats and enjoy the farm in general

Everybody pitched in and helped!
There’s always work to do on the farm – but there was no forced labor and we tried to make it a bit fun!

Again nobody goes hungry! There was another photo here of Jennifer singing to a spoon full of something, she looked totally goofy – she would kill me! But I almost added it anyway just to prove that the counters in the kitchen actually get clean now and again! We ALWAYS have Grandma Robin’s fruit salad which is amazing! And, I, for one, had the best. sandwich. ever.
The cousins enjoyed hanging out!

I was gifted a farm bell by my cousin, Carl. Bill (Farmer man’s brother) finally encouraged the crew to work together to get it up on a post so it could be used! I was so happy to see the new farm bell up and ready to use! Now, I need to oil that thing!
And, finally – panic. There is a long-standing love/hate relationship with this card game! Some of us hate it – others of us love it – but nobody gets out of playing it completely! Teaching new generations and continuing the love/hate relationship for years to come – please God, help us find a new game!!! (Not being flippant – it’s actually a prayer!)

Now for that front porch sitting! Enjoying the plants, remembering to water them, watching them grow . . . Half are cheater planted, half came from seed. I can enjoy the small accomplishments while we sit and chat!

Looks so wonderful..I saw the word relaxing…I do hope you got to enjoy that

I did get to sit on the porch a bit, taking advantage of that a bit more this past week!
