I often have difficulty framing up our life in a readable format. If I had video, an hour, and 10,000 words – it would still be hard not to jump from story to story and jump in with “Oh yeah, I forgot . . .”
#1 – The cows are back! Not the same cows, of course. But 4 weaned calves. Three steers and one heifer. I now know that means three boys who can’t make babies and one girl who has not carried a calf yet. See, I’m learning!

This time they all offloaded with no issues, ran to the “square” where we wanted them, and are settling in nicely – eating grass, thank you Lord! No rogue cow this year, so far no jailbreaks! It was all possibly a little bit easier because we knew a little more and expected calves to act like calves and we have more and better fence!
#2 – Kids and kids It’s amazing to me how much people kids and goat kids act alike! Goats on a stump will play “king of the hill” and people kids on a 4×4 will do the same!

#3 – Temporary bridge to the barn. I know why farmers store everything thinking – “I might find a use for that some day”. Because they are right! We have had 4x4s in the garage from something or another for about a year now. At least I don’t have to take a running jump to cross the 6ft. gap. Kind of happy that the goats don’t seem to be playing “king of the hill” on the temp bridge yet!

The lawnmower is still stuck in the barn until the real bridge is rebuilt or we expand the temporary bridge. Flower doesn’t seem to mind a bit! She seemed to like her front row cushioned seat to the “let’s build a new hay feeder” entertainment happening in the front stall.

#4 – berries! On Sunday afternoon we decided to go pick blueberries. What a great idea that was! It was a beautiful day, great berry bushes, good company, and a great farm to visit. I don’t even really like blueberries, but these were quite tasty!

If you are local – Herot Hall in Liberty is such a beautiful farm! We finally caught the blueberry picking days! They also do weddings and events!

My mother is amazing! She baked up a cobbler and taught me how to make home made whipped cream. NICE!
#5 – Intro to the next blog story . . . Actually received this message while having a sanity dinner with my sister. I have decided that Farmer man and I helping our kids farm is a little like the blind leading the blind. I’m hoping Jennifer will blog this one for us, because it is good!
