Escape from the farm

One of the perks to Farmer Man’s day job is a yearly trip for continuing education.  This year, we went to Snowshoe.  He sat in classes, I rested in the room mostly.  But, this year I decided to take a risk.  I signed up for ski school.  It’s a good thing that I signed up months before.  I think I would have chickened out before I got the equipment on if I hadn’t already paid in full!

My sweet ski instructor (who was due to have a class, but it ended up being just me and her) was a very patient young lady with kind instruction and the ability to see right to my nervousness.  Either way, 8 or so laps around the safety of the kids area were completed with no broken bones, no face full of snow, and no major panic attack over the height of the baby ski-lift.  All in all a success!  I actually really enjoyed skiing – I might do it again – in the kiddie area at least for a while.

We did take the scenic route back to the farm and enjoyed a little Rt. 60 scenery.

When we returned to the farm, we had a chance to visit with the whole gaggle of grandkids and let them enjoy the goat babies a bit.  It was nice having them all over for a bit.  We are still in full out destruction mode – so the layers of dust will accumulate a bit like snow!

I am working on my bread making skills so I treated Farmer Man to a trial run of cinnamon rolls.  They weren’t perfect, but neither were they terrible.  I’m sure he won’t mind too much if I practice a little bit more!
