Making ourselves at home

There is plenty of work to be done in the process of transitioning the farm from some mix of camp and man-cave to an actual HOME where the family will gather and I will be happy. So we have been busy, as usual, for the last few weeks.

We have completed the big move – where our “home things” come to the farm.

After several days of exhausting work, we decided to take a mini break! We loaded a bunch up and headed for Amish country – our blood pressure needed it!

Apparently we relax when we feed someone else’s animals! The Farm at Walnut Creek and Hershberger’s kept the kids and the Moms entertained!

Then we all came back to the farm to keep working. Apparently, some of us didn’t get enough rest on our mini vaca – or we worked them too hard – not sure!

So, here’s the progress so far in the farmhouse transformation. It’s coming along.

We didn’t let them rest too long, see, the floor got done!

Farmer man seems to be pretty happy for us to be living in the same place again. He does get the occasional home cooked meal, fresh eggs for breakfast on the weekends, and a helper on the barn runs. We really have missed each other a great deal over the last couple years, so we are enjoying the messy process. And, every so often, I go out to the field with Farmer man to watch him do his favorite thing – mess with those calves!
