Hanging out

I am working to be a bit more consistent in my blogging. We will see how it goes!

We are trying to catch up on some farm work now that all the stuff is officially at the farm. So, for the next week or so, we will whittle away at the list of goat duties that need to be done! 38 goats are A LOT of work!

We tried to come up with a few to sell. Those are marked in yellow, except Farmer Man kept saying “Do you really want to sell . . .?” Still we could sell a few.

Now that the pretty house is sold, we can entertain the idea of a tractor. We aren’t in a hurry, but I did have Farmer Man convinced for a while that I bought this one without him! I didn’t buy it, but I did enjoy the test drive!

A tractor may take a while to decide on, but a lawn mower – that has to happen sometime pretty quick! Farmer Man has pushed the little 19 hp Craftsman lawmower past it’s limit a few too many times! Currently, it will pull a cart from the garage to the barn, but mowing is out. The mowing deck is just too beat up!

Some of the grands came over this weekend – which is a definite perk! They were very happy that in all the moving I did not get rid of the giant Legos. I love their imagination! And, David is a fantastic Lego architect! He helps their stuff stick together!

Monday evening while Charleston and Sissonville and Cross Lanes were battling storms, we were watching it rain from the front porch. I LOVE this part of farm life! Some of my best childhood memories are sitting on Aunt Wanda’s back porch with a whole crew of family watching it rain and listening to the night sounds from relative safety.

I have tried without success to add the short clip of the sound of the rain. I will add it to the Facebook comment section until I figure it out! But, do enjoy this full photo of our view off the porch!

Sometimes no matter what million things need to be done, one just has to take a few minutes to breathe in the world around. Tomorrow, more work!

BONUS: Albino buck in Ripley – sorry for the poor quality phone photo, but he was pretty far away!
