Some weeks it’s just ho-hum, other weeks it is non-stop. In that, farming is no different from regular life. This will be mostly a – let’s catch up in photos – blog.
Finally got the center of the barn clean, for 5 minutes! The goats and cows are enjoying the green, green grass of the front field (hopefully they stay where they belong!), and we figured out what was up with the one auto-trough up on the hill! Thank You Lord! We did not have to dig up under that trough and run new plumbing!

I parked it! with a little help

cooking went fairly well
Faking that smile – trust me!
My comfy spot
Well, at least he liked breakfast!
Big Tiny’s BBQ in North Carolina – worth the stop!
We took a few days away and went to see Farmer Man’s dad. I would like to buy a camper, so we rented one to test out a bit. Those photos of Farmer Man smiling – are fake! He is a princess, and was not impressed! I enjoyed myself, but might have changed what I would want in a camper. We will see – no hurry – just thinking!
While we were visiting in North Carolina, we visited the zoo – to go see other animals – that we are not responsible to feed. We enjoyed a very very hot day in the zoo, walked SOOO much, and proved we are truly farmers by finding fence that we would like to try at home. Hahahaha, you can take the Farmer off the farm, but ya can’t take the farm out of the farmer!

Too expensive to run everywhere, but goals for the areas that will get “pretty fence”
Then we came home and ran more fence – but not the pretty kind! Thankful for our helpers!

This post has seen a lot of different kinds of fence!
Work always continues on the farm – clearing more land and preserving the good trees is always at the top of Farmer Man’s list of favorite chores. One is never alone on the farm for long. People may be scarce sometimes, but not animals.

Most of the grandkids are having a new adventure – they started school! They have all been homeschooled for years! Jeremy has gotten a new job as a teacher at a private school – and they are all up to their ears in bedtimes, uniforms, homework and new friends! Everybody is doing well and making adjustments!
On the house-work: The toilet is half plumbed in the appropriate room, in the appropriate place – just imagine the wall behind it, and kind-of usable. At least there is some progress – thanks sister and Bernie for the help!
Animals on our farm continue to be spoiled – Jim feeding that stupid red hen tortilla chips – because she was begging one evening while we were enjoying the porch!
Life is all over the place right now and that is okay! We have made farm progress, worked hard, rested for a few days, worked hard again, I love fall, and it is right around the corner. The cows are getting bigger, it is almost time for them to go to the market. Hopefully we can keep them inside the fence and happily fed for another few weeks. It has been an eventful month!
