Thanks to COVid 19 we gave up our beach trip and enjoyed a week around the farm with a bit of family.

pic nic for the grands
two heads are better than one

Nice shady spot to visit
Love seeing the family!

Play ball – kids bat til they hit the ball – don’t you dare tag them out!
Grandma’s helpers
We did our best to be responsible and still have a good time. We rented a side-by-side to show the older generations the farm improvements and then enjoyed a few off-road adventures ourselves!

Touring the acres in style
No we didn’t let them drive!

Brothers havin fun

Goats are still goats even with company on the farm! Daisy!
Cousins hanging out

Ice cream is always a good idea!
Birthdays this month!

Even rain couldn’t ruin our fun!
Sometimes I am against free-range chickens
It wouldn’t be spring on the farm if there wasn’t a bit of hay to put up! Thankfully, it was a mini hay day. Most of it was round baled and it was unusually cool! Great crew put up about 140 bales. Farmer Man had to drive the truck this year.

Great job stacking David!
Hard working girls!
Not a bad looking crew
We did finish the fence project and passed the inspection – Yay! A few loose ends and rotating animals will be as easy as opening one gate and closing another. That’s what Farmer Man tells me anyway, we will see.

Fence done just in time
Calves are here and eating grass
Finish one project, start another!

Day 1 Hi Tunnel
end of day 1
Day 3
The high-tunnel that we signed up for quite a while back became the next project. I was so pleased that someone (Thank you Matt) talked Farmer Man into letting the professionals build it!

Inside, before the rows
It’s all done in just a few days – it would have taken us months!
Those guys had no idea why David and I were so thankful. We knew that if it wasn’t for them, we would be trudging up the hill in 95degree heat while arguing about what step came next and whether the measurements were correct!

David and I are shoveling . . . thanks Andrea and Bernie for a load of manure
Good looking rows – start small
Thanks Bernie for tilling!
Andrea and Bernie have been a great help in getting things ready to plant a bit. They have some tomatoes and peppers ready to go in the ground!
In the midst of all of this lovely progress, a couple challenges have come up. I would say that’s just farm life, but these are just life. In the middle of farm week Farmer Man had some testing done which confirmed that it is time to go shopping for a new heart valve. We knew this day was coming, but honestly didn’t expect it quite this soon. So, the process is underway to see about getting him fixed up. He’s not too happy about sitting on the sidelines and that is making the process of farming a bit challenging, but we have help and so far we are plugging along.

God is Good, He is always GOOD! I am thankful for GREAT friends and family and for a very patient, and loving God who hasn’t thrown his hands up and walked away from me. It is Him who gives me strength. Anyone who knows us well knows that while Farmer man drives me crazy sometimes, I love him fiercely and I wouldn’t know what to do without him!
God is good… Farmer Man is in his hands
