I am spoiled! I am sure my sister will agree.
I am definitely spoiled to a nice barn – and that is your fault Andrea Holley! So we got started working on the old barn out back. Jennifer and Andrea have already made great progress just getting all the old stuff that was in the way corralled into one stall so we can get rid of what isn’t useful.
These photos were from the first work weekend – good workers! This picture is about to drastically change.
So since it was raining Saturday morning, my husband decided that working on the barn made sense. I had to agree with him – finally, because I was not happy about it last Wednesday when we spent an hour and a half in Lowe’s looking for lumber when I was hangry. (It happens).
So, Saturday, we worked a little on the structure of the barn. Here is the first major trouble spot.
So, this is a pretty involved project that won’t be done in one weekend, but we (I mean Bernie, Jim, and Jeremy) made lots of progress!

Rabbit cage moved, structural support placed, “too tall post” removed. Only a few heart attacks were experienced as the old supports were removed and the new one started doing it’s job.
Now I can drive through the whole barn from front to back on the riding lawnmower.
That came in handy as the girls and I cleaned up a bit and started a poo pile in the back field. Things are looking better in the barn. Working on stairs to the hay floor later!
