Sharing the kids with kids

For the last two years any time we have had to transport the goats, it has been in the trunk of our nice family van. This year, thanks to my brother-in-law, we had a different option. A little less glam, but so much more functional!

So, after a bit of ingenious repair work by farmer man, the truck was ready to become a temporary goat taxi! It took us about 45 minutes to round up 15 goats, put collars on, and get them into the truck. Eva is a stellar goat helper! All loaded up and off to town! I don’t know if Chick Fil A realized their parking lot held a truck full of goats – but it did go smoother than last year’s drivethrough with goats in the van!

I so enjoy kids! Both kinds!

The kids listened as we talked about how we take care of our goats and keep them safe (fencing them when needed), give them food and water and a place to sleep. And how God does that for us because He loves us. They seemed to get it – even though they were really just trying to patient until they could get their hands on some baby goats!

Oh what fun we have when we share the goats! I’m pretty sure the goats enjoyed all the attention too!

hand on learning!

But, however noisy they were on the trip up – those goats were too tired to carry on back there on the trip home. They were quiet and piled up together as we pulled in to the farm.

Thankful for Jennifer and Mya who came by and helped us unload the truck full of goats in the dark to their “home field”!

God can use anything to remind us of spiritual truth. And, make no mistake, the kids are not the only ones learning through this experience, the goat handlers learn as well!
