Everybody’s moooooooving . . .

To say that we are busy right now is a profound understatement!

We are moving! Well, I am moving from the pretty house to the farm! We are doing projects at both places, there are boxes at both places, furniture in some stage of disassembly at both places, people at both places. . . More of the same, except now there are some deadlines!

Bits of the pretty house arrive at the farm

Candice is moving to an apartment with her sister so she can keep going to the vocational school next fall. Its a cute first apartment, and a fun adventure! Not TOTALLY moving, she will share time between the farm and the apartment. She really has no intention of moving out til she’s 40. We will see. . .

Girls can pack a truck!
Getting the room ready!

The calves have arrived at Curvy Creek Farm! Actually this happened a couple weeks ago, I just haven’t gotten it to the blog til now. We have 8 calves, good little mowers, arrived and settled in without much hoopla. So far, we still have 8.

Moooooooove over goats, its our turn!

The weed-eating crew is getting a little bit out of hand, so we are trying some different ways to feed them grain. We are trying desperately to decrease the ever growing barn time in the evening. This mobile feeding unit was kind of successful, kind of too crowded. Back to the drawing board. Right now the babies are still in the “tot lot” as we TRY to wean them from the mommy milk. We have a couple that we just can not keep in! They find their mommy every single stupid day! Ugh! I would love to do natural weaning, but the mommies are getting a little bit thin, so they need a break!

Not enough room!

The calves and the goats are now rotating a little bit between fields, so the mooooooving is continuous for them, and it feels continuous to me!

We are beginning to perk up the farm house with some fresh paint and some new flooring upstairs. It is coming along, but won’t be done before I am there full-time. At least remodeling is a comfortable and well worn path in our lives – but I am NOT excited about that part! Still, work is progressing!

I am pretty happy with the new cabinet colors

Trusting God and taking a step at a time, at least that is what we are trying to do

  1. I wish I could come help you, but right now I would not be much help. 8 cows? What were you thinking? The farm kitchen is really looking good. Give me a call when you can.
