Hay!

I don’t much like feeling helpless; not sure anyone does. So I thought I would be brave and take the truck to get a couple of round bales – all by myself. It seems simple enough, it isn’t like I had to lift those things in there by hand. But, driving with 1000 pounds of hay in the bed of the truck is nerve wracking on the twisty roads around the farm. But, I did it! I didn’t wreck and I didn’t lose the bales over the side of the hill. Go me!

Feeling independant-ish and accomplished!

Farmer man and I had a little help and some pointers from Bernie as we finally got to set out a round bale of hay for the little troublemakers! They should eat better, and we will rest better knowing if they are going hungry it is their own fault! Still didn’t keep David from having to go reinforce the bottom of the fence AGAIN!

playing a little too close to the house!

My mood has improved after some much needed family time! I have managed to see and talk with all of my kids in the last week or so – a privilege! We had dinner with most of the grands on my daughter’s birthday, and then they all came over so we could make hot rolls for Thanksgiving. Ahhhhhh, that’s when the farm is good – when the house is full of children and laughter and a bit of whining, he he he!

I was SOOOOO proud of Lexie as she shared her adoption story as part of adoption awareness month!

The biggest changes happening right now are not in the fields, the barn, or the animals – the house is changing and moving toward what we want it to be. It is GREAT to see progress – even though it is messy!

Taking shape

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and I am quite thankful! I have a Christmas plan that is realistic, if not Hallmark quality perfect – and that will hopefully get us through the holiday season without a full melt down (this time)! It will be a construction Christmas, but it will be a festive mess! God is Good and we are beyond blessed!
