While working out the best way to mesh the farm decorations and the “big house” decorations, I came to an interesting conclusion. The very moment that Jesus is born, the bright and shiny gloriousness of heaven joins the stink of the stable. So, the gold and shiny ornaments and ribbon will just blend with the simple and the homemade. Thankfully none of my Christmas decorations smell like my barn, but God met us where we were. Christmas happens where we are, where ever that is. And that, brings peace. There is no need to be perfect, there is no drive to make it all match, only another day walk with Jesus and let Him be present in our lives.

So, where we are is, as always, in the middle of several projects! The house work continues (thank You Lord!) and progress is obvious! yay!

before, well, in the middle

We took a quick trip to Amish country to pick up some apples (that I have only found there) and a cabinet for the bathroom. We didn’t even spend the night, we just ran for the day. It was a fun little trip and hit the mark!
Farm progress – I decided that I am willing to deal with a little extra mud at the back door to make feeding the goats easier. I don’t have a photo sorry. I have just admitted to the fact that I hate feeding them because I then have to go change ALL of my clothes! In their desperation to ingest more sweet grain they get me all muddy and dirty, step on my shoes and sometimes almost knock me over! It makes living a normal life, where one goes out into public, difficult! So, the troughs are sitting just over the porch rails off the back porch. I can pour feed into them without leaving the porch, and the goats can’t (so far) touch me! Yay! It’s not pretty, but it is functional! And, I can wear the same outfit ALL day – it’s amazing!

That’s the farm life update for now!
So, whether you are farming or city living, busy or bored – remember the point of Christmas is that the gloriousness of heaven came down one night to a dirty little stinky stable so that one day, we would have the option of returning to heaven with Him. Merry Christmas y’all!
